Day 4: Choose Healing Words
Words can wound, but words can also heal. In marriage, communication must do more than exchange information. It must protect love, honour, trust, and unity. A soft answer reduces anger because it carries restraint and wisdom. Healing words do not deny the issue. They address the issue in a way that keeps the heart open and the relationship safe.

Many couples use words as weapons when they feel hurt. They accuse, compare, mock, threaten, or bring up old failures to win the moment. That may create temporary power, but it damages long-term connection. Healing words are different. They are honest without cruelty. They correct without humiliation. They express pain without attacking character. They make room for apology, understanding, and repair.

Today, choose words that heal rather than words that prove a point. Before speaking, ask yourself, “Will this build connection or increase distance?” Replace blame with ownership. Replace insults with clarity. Replace threats with commitment to resolve the issue. Your words are shaping the atmosphere of your marriage. Use them to calm anger, restore dignity, and open the way for peace.
