Self-discovery is the act or process of achieving self-knowledge. It is the act or process of gaining knowledge or understanding of your abilities, character, and feelings. Self-discovery is the process you are aware of your true potential, character, motives, etc. Who are you? You want to discover yourself so you can make the most of your life.

Ignorance about yourself will rob you of living a fulfilled life. The meaning of self-discovery is extensive; it means many things. It is digging deep into your entirety, including your childhood, so you can reveal the experiences that shape you. Your faith and beliefs are not out of scope. Self-discovery is like research about you to discover everything good and bad about you.

Despite discovering your path in life, there are times you will find yourself completely lost, and in the middle of nowhere. At this stage, you must stay afloat, because you have only yourself. All the years spent in school is not about you; it is learning how to be something. When do you learn how to be you? God creates you for a reason. There is a way you must function so you can carry out the purpose of your creation. Have you read the manual about the creation that you are? Do you even have a manual? How can you be the best of you when you are ignorant of who you are?

You cannot be made complete by all the education and intelligence in the world. The credentials you worked so hard for and earned does not come with your purpose in it. Your high grades cannot tell you about you. The school you attend will not teach you anything about yourself. You need to embark on the journey to discover yourself and self-discovery is the most valuable lesson you did not learn in school. Passing or failing exams do not reveal anything about you. You need to learn about yourself to make the most of your life. It is criminal for others to know more about you than you know about you.

You do not need money to learn about yourself. It is essential to be self-aware because it makes you a force to be reckoned with in a world where survival is for the fittest. When you are a force, you’ll succeed in the game of life. Your attitude and life-choices speak volumes about you; it reveals if you know about you. You are becoming self-aware means becoming surer of yourself by setting standards and understanding precisely what you want.

You are the biggest asset you have in life. Maybe you don’t know yourself and what you want, don’t panic. It is not late to start learning despite your age. Self-discovery will enable you to advance in life. There are many benefits associated with knowing your self-worth. Your relationships will be healthier. You will drive towards the right people; you will also drive past those who are not suitable for you by discovering yourself. Self-discovery gives you values, dedication, and passion the tools you need to drive towards the job of your dreams.

It is helpful to understand why you do things. In self-discovery, you begin to learn how to rewrite your stories where applicable. You’re aware of the projections you place on the people around you. When you understand the stories, you used to transform your experiences; you are potentially able to see the people in your life much more clearly. You see them for who they are. Living without a sense of self is a life not worth living. Socrates, even said, “An unexamined life is not worth living.” So, self-discovery is essential because it gives you a barometer in which to experience life.

You need to live your life in balance.  Good and Evil, light, and darkness, ego and self-discovery; there is no knowledge of one without the other. Awareness is the presence of God within you. It is the presence of God within all beings. It is the light that gives life to all experiences. It is the reason you notice anything happening. It is the cause of all success and failure. It is the source of all creation and the essence of all wisdom.

There is no steps or ways to self-discovery. You are unique, and how you view the world determines how you discover your worth. Who are you in the world? What unique experiences have you met that helped you find out your exceptional skills, gifts & talents? Where did you learn resilience? How? Compassion? Empathy? Whatever gifts you have shone in your darkest times and they are unique to you. How did those to you handle their crisis? How did you experience their pain and triumph? Was there’s different from yours? How different? Your uniqueness shines through here again. Self-discovery is about improving the relationship you have with yourself. It’s about forgiving yourself for not knowing what that experience taught you. When you think of a past event and have regrets that you should’ve made a different choice, know that you learned from that event.

The journey to self-discovery begins with the question “Who am I?” Who are you? What brings you joy? What are you most afraid of? What feelings are leading you right now? What is your real personality? What do people see in you?  Learning about your flaws, your setbacks, your blockages, is the hardest part of getting to know yourself. You must never leave any stone unturned. You must learn about your good and bad qualities. You must ensure you do not allow your bad qualities surface. You must deal and handle your bad qualities. You must enhance and improve your good qualities. You should embrace learning both what you are good at and what you are not good at. You will learn who you have hurt so you can make amends. There are negative things that clouded your judgement; you must accept and move on.

The journey of self-discovery is a never-ending journey, a lifetime journey, but you will reach a good place when you have developed self-pride and confidence in your abilities. At this stage, you will no longer bother about your flaws because you have come to understand and embrace the fact you are who you are because of your good and ugliest personalities. The moment you can embrace the totality of you, it brings you a great sense of pride and fulfilment because, without the good, the bad, and the ugliest of you, there is no you.

You must accept and love yourself for who you are. You must teach yourself how to support and love yourself. Stop allowing the views of people who know little about you to matter. Admit the condition you are and move on. Acceptance builds your confidence and self-esteem. Love is loud and infectious; it stands out. Love yourself and others will love you. No one will love you more than you love yourself. Take ownership of yourself, your thoughts, and your mind. Make sure there’s nothing anyone can do or say that can take you away from YOU. Always upgrade to be the best of you.
