Key Bible Verse: "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

Day 2: Facing the Root Cause of Your Shortcomings Brings Freedom

You cannot overcome what you refuse to understand. Shortcomings often have deep roots, unhealed wounds, limiting beliefs, unhealthy habits, or unresolved sin. Jesus said in John 8:32 (KJV), "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Freedom begins when you identify what fuels your struggles instead of just fighting the symptoms.

Many people focus on changing surface behaviour without addressing the heart issues underneath. That is like trimming weeds without pulling them out, they will grow back. King David’s prayers in the Psalms reveal a pattern of self-examination. He asked God to search his heart and reveal anything that was not right, so he could be cleansed and restored.Invite the Holy Spirit into your self-examination. He will not condemn you but will guide you into truth that heals.

Today, ask God to help you dig deeper. Is your short temper rooted in past hurt? Is procrastination linked to fear of failure? Is your lack of discipline connected to poor priorities? When you uncover the source, you position yourself for lasting change.
