"The Abundance of the Free Favour of the Lord." Luke 4:18-19
Hi Visitor,
In conflict, the desire to win can easily overshadow the call to heal. Romans 12:18 urges us, “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.” Choosing peace over victory is not weakness. It is a sign of spiritual maturity and inner strength. When your focus shifts from proving a point to preserving a relationship, love takes the lead and pride steps aside.
Seeking victory fuels arguments and creates deeper divides. It pushes you to speak over rather than listen and to defend rather than understand. Peace, on the other hand, values connection over being right. It listens with patience, responds with kindness, and holds space for the other person’s perspective. You may not always agree, but love-driven peace chooses harmony over hostility.
Today, check your heart in conflicts. Are you fighting to win or to understand? Are you arguing to dominate or to build? Choose peace, even if it means letting go of the last word. When love seeks peace, both hearts find room to heal and grow stronger.
Think about a conflict that escalated because both sides wanted to win. What if peace had been the goal instead? Imagine the restoration that could have happened. Let that vision guide your choices in future disagreements.
Jesus could have destroyed His accusers, but He chose silence and sacrifice to bring peace between humanity and God. His example calls us to prioritise peace above ego. True strength lies in choosing reconciliation over revenge.
Write down one situation where you need to stop fighting for victory and start seeking peace. Then write, “I choose peace over pride today.” Let this guide your actions and words.
"Winning an argument can cost you a relationship. Choose peace and let love be your real victory."
May God bless your heart with the humility to choose peace over proving yourself right. May He fill you with patience, compassion, and wisdom in every conflict. Let your words and actions build bridges, not walls. May His love guide you to seek harmony and reflect His heart in all your relationships. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
